'Tekken 7' PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 Release Date News & Rumors: PlayStation 4 Launch in Late 2015, Other Platforms Still Unconfirmed

While Bandai Namco Games has yet to announce the official release date of 'Tekken 7', the company has confirmed that it will release the ninth installment of this widely popular series on the PlayStation 4 first. As it stands, some speculate that the game may arrive sometime during the end of 2015.

Unveiling the game officially at the EVO fighting game tournament in Las Vegas in July, the company said that the 'Tekken 7' is powered with the Unreal Engine 4, indicating that the game will not be available for other platforms.

Katushiro Harada, the director and chief producer of 'Tekken 7' said, "With Unreal Engine 4, we could rapidly achieve visual quality expected on next-gen platform and go beyond it," adding, "Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, but it allows us to immediately bring 'Tekken 7' to any platform we desire."

Nevertheless, Tekken fans who also want to play the game on other different platforms should not be completely disheartened as the company has not right away denied its availability on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PS3. When asked to comment on whether the game will be available on these platforms too, Harada simply replied, "No information now."

It is worth mentioning here that 'Tekken 7' is the last installment of the Mishima Saga. A report by Siliconera said that the game will unravel plenty of mysteries surrounding the game series, for instance, the reason why the character Heihachi Mishima killed his wife, Kazumi, why he dumped his son, Kazuya, into a pit, the real identity of Devil Jin and the reason why Heihachi killed him. It will also reveal several other issues that have remained unanswered so far.

Similar to other games in the 'Tekken' series, 'Tekken 7' will also be one-on-one, and not a team-based game.
