Taylor Swift New Album 2014 News: Country to Pop Conversion & World Red Tour Success

Based on a few songs from Taylor Swift's album Red, it seems as though the country music star is making a transition into pop music. Reports claim that Swift has been working with big time producer Max Martin on her new album.

Martin worked with Swift for "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," which were featured in the Red album that peaked at No. 2 and No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Apparently, fans are not upset in the slightest about Swift's slow shift from country to pop.

Scott Brochetta from Swift's label already assumes that the upcoming album will be another hit, "Taylor fans are going to love it. Will country stations play a complete pop song just because it's her? No. But when she comes to town, her friends at country radio will come and see her," she told the Rolling Stones.

There is little doubt about Swift's success in the pop music market due to Martin's expertise in the field. Martin is reported to have helped launch the careers of pop icons Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears and Katy Perry.

In other news, with her recent World Red Tour, Swift has broken previous country music artist records, "The RED Tour's overall gross of $150 million surpassed the prior country artist record held by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul2Soul tour that brought in $141 million during 2006 and 2007," said in a statement from Swift's official website (taylorswift.com)

Swift's ability to blur the lines between country and pop music sets her apart from other leading artists.

According to reports, the Red tour's final box office totals $150,184,971 in revenue from 1,702,933 sold tickets at 86 performances in 12 countries.
