Switchfoot bassist Tim Foreman sang live lead vocals for the first time in the band's career this weekend for their new song "What It Costs," a track he wrote.

The song was not on the Fading West album, but was just released on The Edge of the Earth EP. Tim, the brother of lead singer Jon, wrote the track after an emotional event that occurred in their family.

The performance took place at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA. Tim played the acoustic guitar instead of the bass and his brother did backing vocals.

"That was scary! I don't know how you do that every night," Tim said at the show. Jon praised his brother's performance at the concert.

Switchfoot recently released their music for "When We Come Alive," which is off of their new EP, The Edge of the Earth.

In the video the band is performing on the beach to a select group of fans. Other moments from the band's history were intertwined in the footage. Some of the pictures are from fans who shared the photos over Instagram. "So many incredible moments frozen in time, captured by all y'all! We're gonna pick 9 winners and then keep this thing going- and pick 9 more next week," wrote lead singer Foreman.
