'Supernatural' Season 11 Finale Review, Spoilers: Dean and Sam Say Their Goodbyes In Last Episode?

In the face of probable death, Dean and Sam said their goodbyes in the final episode of "Supernatural" season 11.

The season 11 finale saw Castiel surviving Amara's attack and being freed from Lucifer. Chuck, on the other hand, felt his life sneaking away, just as the sun lost its light. The characters knew this meant another hitch, since the sun is the source of all life and without it, everything ceases to exist.

As Chuck revealed that light was Amara's weakness and that The Darkness cannot be shut in, they decided to knock off Amara. Chuck, Castiel, Billie and the Winchester brothers were all there to join forces in executing the plan. But before they dropped the bomb, Dean and Sam said their goodbyes at Mary Winchester's grave.

Dean asked Cas to take care of Sam and even requested for a big funeral where his eulogy will be read by Black Sabbath and Gary Busey.

During the attack, Dean talked Amara through sibling drama, reminding her about her family.

"When everything goes to crap, that's all you got--family," said Dean.

This struck a chord in Amara, so she summoned Chuck to make reparations. Ultimately, the siblings held hands and Chuck's life force, the sun, was restored. The episode then saw Amara and Chuck leaving for some bonding. Before they left, Chuck told dean, "Earth will be fine. It's got you. And Sam."

At the end of the day, Toni of the Men of Letters' London chapter decided to take the Winchester brothers in, considering the damage they had done over the years. When Toni saw Sam and told him about their impending arrest, Sam told Toni that Dean was dead and kept her at arm's length.

Meanwhile, Amara thanked Dean for reminding her about family and for giving her what she had always wanted. Towards the end of the episode, Dean found himself face to face with his late mother, Mary, who was apparently brought back by Amara from the dead.
