'Super Mario Run' Release Date: Classic Nintendo Character Set To Hit Both iOS, Android This December

Iconic video game character Super Mario is bound to come to mobile devices in Nintendo's "Super Mario Run."

Recently, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto shocked everyone at the Apple conference when he announced "Super Mario Run" for the iOS, Kotaku has learned. As per the publication, the game is set to have similar graphics with the "New Super Mario Bros."

It is added that the game can be dowloaded with a set purchase price and will be in the App Store soon. Along with the iOS, Nintendo also told the publication that they did intend to release the game on Android devices sometime in the future.

Miyamoto announced the forthcoming game with Apple chief executive Tim Cook at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

In a statement, as cited by The Guardian, Cook said that someone had been missing on the App Store since its launch, adding that he was glad to say that he had arrived now. In the same interview, Miyamoto said that Mario's magic was anyone can pick up and start playing, as they had made it even easier.

For Miyamitot, he had wanted everyone around the world to enjoy Mario and they would be able to enjoy it on iOS first.

"Super Mario Run" is set to be comparable to other games, such as Subway Surfers and Temple Run, among others. As per reports, the game has two modes, the classic Mario "run-to-the-flag" mode and the battle mode, which allows players to challenger their friends or other players across the globe.

Overall, "Super Mario Run" is set to hit both the iOS and Android in December.
