Suge Knight Death Hoax: Rumors of Death Row Records Co-Founder Stabbed Are Not True

A recent article said that the former rap impresario Marion "Suge" Knight, who co-founded Death Row Records, was stabbed to death while he was recuperating from gun shot wounds in a hospital. This report turned out to be a hoax, as it's now confirmed that Knight is still alive.

The fraudulent report appeared on Cream Bmp Daily, which claims to be a "satire" website.

The fake article reads, "Suge Knight was pronounced dead at 11 p.m. after a masked man stabbed the former Death Row Record executive to death while he laid wounded in his hospital bed (sic)." It goes on to add, "An initial investigation reveals that with low wages and most people being a fan of Tupac anybody could have been paid to let the murderer into Suge Knights room."

A disclaimer on the website says that it does not publish real news and so people should not take them seriously.

The disclaimer reads, "CreamBmp.com Written by comedian CREAM. This website is comprised of satire and parody of current news and urban culture. For entertainment purposes only," adding, "All reports and other information on this page may or may not be 100% accurate. It's not news, its entertainment. All other comments are my personal opinion, but try not to take the (expletive) seriously and come at me with that ... because I will and do sue."

The disclaimer notwithstanding, thousands of people shared the fake Suge Knight story over social media on Sunday, believing it to be true.

A previous report said that Marion "Suge" Knight and two others were shot early Sunday inside a packed West Hollywood nightclub at a pre-awards party hosted by singer Chris Brown.

Authorities and eye witnesses said that the gunfire erupted inside the spacious 1 OAK club on the Sunset Strip about 1:30 a.m as Brown was performing at a pre-MTV Video Music Awards party, sending club-goers running and screaming into the street.

Although the Sheriff's deputies quickly arrived at the venue, the gunman managed to escape.

According to reports, Knight was shot several times and was reportedly taken to the hospital, but was able to walk under his own power.
