Steven Curtis Chapman's Show Hope Raises $1.2 Million at 11th Annual Fundraiser; Event Brought Major Awareness for Orphans

Show Hope

Show HopeTM, founded in 2003 by multi-award winning Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife Mary Beth, a New York Times' best-selling author, is a nonprofit organization that helps restore the hope of a family to orphans in distress. One of the organization's primary objectives is to mobilize individuals, students, families, and communities to join them in caring for the world's most vulnerable children.

Each year, Show Hope hosts a fundraising banquet to raise funds and awareness of the global orphan crisis. Held in November to promote National Adoption Month, their 11th Annual Fundraising Banquet took place at Nashville's Music City Center on November 8. With hundreds of supporters from around the country in attendance, Show Hope surpassed their goal of $1 million by raising more than $1.2 million to help bring orphans into forever families! The generous donations are a huge step toward Show Hope's annual fundraising goal of $12 million.

The event's success was due in part to hosts Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman (Show Hope's President and Vice President, respectively), guest speakers Max Lucado who shared about the power of prayer, Dr. Karyn Purvis who was recognized for her life-changing work with Show Hope's Empowered to Connect conferences, and Robin and Joyce Hill of the New Hope Foundation who spoke about their work with orphans in China and their partnership with Show Hope. Chapman then closed out the evening with a special musical performance.
