Star Wars vs Star Trek, J.J. Abrams Interview Speaks on Being on Both Worlds, Which is His Favorite? (VIDEO)

Star Wars 7 is in the works and even though it doesn't come out til 2015, fans are already clammoring for any news that they can get.

J.J. Abrams is taking over the directing of the final three Star Wars movies from George Lucas and he has done some interviews in the last several months discussing it.

J.J. Abrams also did the latest Star Trek: Into the Darkness movie but was not really a true fan of the series, so he was able to direct the film just trying to make a great film.

With Star Wars, J.J. Abrams was a huge fan and he several times shares about the whole experience of seeing Star Wars for the first time in the theater and how it changed him.

Now Abrams has the opportunity to make the new Star Wars film and it is something that he will take very seriously.

Many people were not pleased with the last three Star Wars movies that came out directed by George Lucas, but since they were prequel movies, J.J. Abrams does not have to deal with picking them off where they left off. Abrams gets to pick things up where the original three Star Wars movies left off.

Of course with the movie so far out, the script is still being written and the castings are still being finalized, but any news and details that fans can get from J.J. Abrams about the upcoming Star Wars 7 is good enough for them.

Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to release by December 2015. It was thought May 2015, but Abrams doesn't think it will be ready by then.

Here is an even more in-depth interview with Howard Stern and J.J. Abrams and his discussion of taking over the new Star Wars movies. You can listen to it HERE. (explicit language)
