Star Wars Episode VII Starring Ryan Gosling & Zac Efron? Who is Part of Upcoming Cast for Iconic Movie

Ryan Gosling has been in the news a lot with so many films that he has been starring in or working on including Gangster Squad, The Place Beyond the Pines and Only God Forgives. He also has been writing, directing and producing How to Catch a Monster which is set to release in 2014. 

However, his name, along with actor Zac Efron came up in an article from the Latino Review that they could be cast for the upcoming Star Wars VII movie. 

It was rumored that Ryan Gosling read for the part of Luke Skywalker's son. Could you picture him playing that role?

Unfortunately for fans of Gosling (or fortunately), his representatives have denied that he will be a part of Star Wars 7. 

Gosling has actually mentioned even taking a step back from doing movies in general for a little while. He said this in an interview in March, "I've lost perspective on what I'm doing. I think it's good for me to take a break and reassess why I'm doing it and how I'm doing it. And I think this is probably a good way to learn about that. I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does."

He seems to be sticking with it to, besides finishing up the projects that he had already committed to, Gosling has not signed on to start anything new at this time. 

Zac Efron's people have not commented as to the validity of him playing a role in the new Star Wars: Episode 7 movie. 

Casting is in the beginning stages and for film and it is expected that Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill will reprise their roles from the original trilogy. 

Star Wars: Episode 7 is set for a release date in 2015.
