While Digital Creative Entertainment has yet to make any official announcement regarding the release date of 'Star Wars Battlefront 3', speculations are rife that the new game will arrive in late 2015 or early 2016 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

After Electronic Arts took over the license of the 'Star Wars' video game franchise, the developers confirmed a new installment for the series at the E3 2013 event last year. The publisher also showed a brief trailer at a press conference organized a day before the convention.

However, it is believed that the development of the game might have been delayed as Digital Illusions Creative Entertainment has stopped work on all future projects with a view to get a different title up and running.

Beyond that, latest reports say that 'Star Wars Battlefront 3' will be using the same engine as the first-person shooter 'Battlefield 4'.

According to an earlier report by Eurogamer, the upcoming installment is being developed for the PC platform as well as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The game is being developed on Frostbite 3, the similar graphics engine that was created for the 'Battlefield 4'.

Revealing developer's notes at the E3 2014, Electronic Arts showed some of the plans for the new video game. 'Star Wars Battlefront 3' should feature several locations from the first three movies of the film franchise. In addition, some of the characters, weapons and vehicles will be also be included.
