Star Wars 7 Cast Updates, Release Date 2015 News & Rumors, Karl Urban, Samuel L. Jackson, Zac Efron & Ryan Gosling to Star in New Movie?

Star Wars: Episode 7 is already buzzing with rumors and speculation even though the release of the movie is almost two years away.

Casting is in the beginning stages for the film and it is expected that Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill will reprise their roles from the original trilogy. So if that is true, it is good that those roles will be lined up by the original actors.

Several other spots that have yet to be officially cast are where the rumor mills are really running wild. Some actors are even throwing in their own opinions trying to get themselves a role in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode 7.

Samuel L. Jackson, who plays Windu, does not seem to care about a little detail (him appearing to die) and wants to be in the new upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII. In Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, it appears that Mace Windu died from a very high fall after being thrown out of a window. Jackson's character, the Jedi, Windu, pushed for a different color light saber for his role and as granted to use a purple light saber as Windu.

To be fair, there are other characters that have appeared to die in Star Wars that come back, even Yoda had this happen. "I mean, come on," Jackson explained on "The Graham Norton Show". "Jedi fall from incredible heights and a lot of them have lived with one hand... I think I could handle it." Still it might be a bit far fetched for fans of the show to buy into, and also many years have past, so Windu would have to be a lot older to fit into Episode VII.

Karl Urban, star of 'Star Trek' movies revealed that he never wants to do a Star Wars movie. In an interview with IGN, he said he would not want to see a "Star Trek" actor in a "Star Wars" movie because he would not take the movie seriously. "J.J. is behind the camera. There's a difference when you're putting a face and a personality in front of the camera, and I wouldn't want to do that do an audience. I, as an audience member, wouldn't want to see an actor from 'Star Trek' in 'Star Wars.' I just wouldn't," admitted Urban. "When I go into a 'Star Wars' movie I want to be completely enveloped. I don't want to be taken out of the picture by going, 'Oh my God, there's Scotty, what's he doing in Star Wars?'"

It was also rumored that Ryan Gosling read for the part of Luke Skywalker's son. Could you picture Gosling playing that role?

Unfortunately for fans of Gosling (or fortunately), his representatives have denied that he will be a part of Star Wars 7

Actor Zac Efron's name also came up in an article from the Latino Review that he could be cast for the upcoming Star Wars VII movie.

Zac Efron's people have not commented as to the validity of him playing a role in the new Star Wars: Episode 7 movie.

Star Wars: Episode VII is set for a release date in 2015 with production perhaps to even start this month.
