Star Trek 3 Movie Release Date, Spoilers News: Plot Revealed Long Before 2016 Film Premiere

Rumors have been circulating about what the upcoming 'Star Trek 3' film will be about, however, only now have reports emerged confirming some of the speculation. As the production team for the movie announced that they will begin to film in six months, TrekMovie.com spoils the plot for eager Trekkies.

Firstly, Roberto Orci has completed the first draft of the feature film's script, and has submitted it to Paramount Pictures for review. Orci himself has said that this time around, the film is going to bring to life characters that are more similar to their television counterparts than their previous movie versions.

Aside from that, the directors chair for the film has not been filled or even announced yet, but speculation about who's going to helm the upcoming blockbuster has been floating around for a while. Apparently, Orci is going to sit down in the hot seat, but that has yet to be officially confirmed.

Stepping into plot spoilers, some of the rumors that have previously been reported can now be confirmed as true. Evidently, the story will take place years after the previous installment, 'Star Trek Into Darkness'.

Beyond that, the film will shift from an Earth-based plot, and step into the realm and the abyss of deep space. This will surely throw the iconic 'Star Trek' characters into a world of strange encounters and various dangers.

One thing that has been kept quiet is whether or not a new alien race will be revealed sometime during the film. Fans will just have to wait for the movie's release or additional spoilers to find out the answer to that one.

Last but not least, the release date that has been projected for 'Star Trek 3' will apparently coincide with 'Star Trek's 50th anniversary. Fans can expect the film franchise installment to come out in 2016.

On a side note, 'Star Trek 3' has yet to be officially titled, but many are of the view that the film will be sub captioned with something better than "Into Darkness."
