"I think Jackie Robinson Day is a real special day for all of baseball," said center fielder Jon Jay to reporters in reference to MLB celebrating Jackie Robinson Day today. "He broke the color barrier for Latin players, for all sorts of different players. As a Latin player, I think it's something that's big where he really paved the way for us and we owe a lot to him. If it wasn't for him, a lot of us wouldn't be playing in the Major Leagues right now."

The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by the final score of 4-1 yesterday. The Brewers starting pitcher Kyle Lohse got the win for Milwaukee yesterday. The Brewers are hoping their veteran starter Matt Garza (0-1) will out duel Cardinals starter Lance Lynn when the two men oppose each other tonight.

"There have been some guys we added here that are bringing not just a better quality on the field, but off the field," said Brewers skipper Ron Roenicke to reporters. "Some guys are vocal...Garza is very vocal...and we need some guys like that. These guys have a chance to win here, and that gives you extra energy, and it does for me and the coaches, also."
