'Sleepy Hollow' Season 4 Premiere Date, News: Star Janina Gavanker Poses For A Photo With Co-Lead Tom Mison

New "Sleepy Hollow" star Janina Gavanker posed for a photo with her leading man, Tom Mison, at the Dragon Con held last weekend in Atlanta. The photo offered fans a first glimpse at the quasi-season 4 reboot of the Fox series.

"After standing in line at Dragon Con, I finally got my one-on-one photo with Tom Mison," she wrote in the caption.

It was reported in July that Janina Gavankar will join the series as Diana, filling the void left by Tom Mison's former co-lead, Nicole Beharie. In the series, Diana is a Secret Service agent who will work in collaboration with D.C.-based Ichabod Crane, played by Tom Mison.

According to Fox entertainment president David Madden, the decision to renew "Sleepy Hollow" for another season following the death of Beharie's Abbie in season 3 was "obviously a very hard conversation." At the Television Critics Association summer press tour held last month, the executive said that the decision was hard because Crane and Abbie were the spine of the show.

"Crane and Abbie were the spine of the show in a lot of ways, so it was difficult to figure out if it was the right thing to do, to continue or not," he said. He said he was only convinced to renew the series after the creatives pitched them an array of new characters and new situations for Crane to get into.

"We think there's a lot of good new stories to tell," he said.

"Sleepy Hollow" season 4 premieres in early 2017 on Fox.
