They were married in Kauai, Hawaii where she was born, raised and still lives now. It was an intimate ceremony with friends and family.

She was set up on a blind date with her now husband Adam in May of 2012 and he proposed to her 11 months later on her favorite beach.

"I just had to trust in God and know that He had someone special for me", Hamilton said.

"I'm so excited for our wedding, but that is only one day to start the rest of our lives together. I'm even more excited to share live together faithfully as husband and wife", Hamilton shares with People magazine.

Hamilton, 25, told Insider, "I feel loved just as I am".

2013 was the 10 year anniversary of her horrific shark attack in the same area of Hawaii that cost Hamilton her left arm.

Hamilton's story was made into a feature film called Soul Surfer that discussed her life as a pro surfer and the before and after of her losing her arm in the shark attack. The movie had a very strong faith base as Hamilton and her family are devoted Christians. Country music star Carrie Underwood played Hamilton's youth pastor in the movie. Soul Surfer opened to theaters April 8, 2011. You can check out more about the inspirational movie at Hamilton's website here
