'Scandal' Season 3 Premiere Oct 2013, Lisa Kudrow Joins Cast of Hit ABC Show & Teasers for Upcoming Episodes (VIDEO)

'Scandal' the hit ABC drama ended the second season in dramatic fashion and fans are now only a month away from the Season 3 premiere.

Season 3 will premiere on ABC on October 3, 2013 and some new casting info has sparked even more curiousity for the upcoming Season. "Friends" star Lisa Kudrow best known for her role as Phoebe will be joining the cast of "Scandal". We are pretty sure no one saw that one coming but are excited to see how it goes. The details about her role on the hit show are being kept under wraps but it is believed she will play a politician.

Star Kerry Washington has been nominated for a Emmy for 'Lead Actress In A Drama Series'. This is her first Emmy nomination and she is the first  black actress to be nominated in that category (Lead Actress In A Drama Series) since Cicely Tyson was nominated for her role in the NBC legal drama series "Sweet Justice" (1994-95).

Tune into the Emmys on Sunday, September 22, on CBS to see if Kerry will come home with the win. 

Show Plot: Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) dedicates her life to protecting the public images of the nation's elite and making sure their secrets never get out. Olivia is a former White House Communications Director for the president, but has left to start her own crisis management firm, Olivia Pope and Associates. She is hoping to begin a new chapter of her life, but is finding out that she cannot leave parts of her past behind without having a definite soft side.

Olivia Pope and Associates staff includes Harrison Wright (Columbus Short), a smooth and efficient litigator; Abby Whelan (Darby Stanchfield), the firm's investigator; Huck Finn (Guillermo Diaz), a hacker with a CIA past; and recent recruit Quinn Perkins (Katie Lowes), a fresh faced lawyer with a secret.
