Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Galaxy S8 To Feature High Quality Display, Modernized Built, 5G Connectivity

New details on the specifications and release Samsung's upcoming device, the Galaxy S8, have been revealed, such as a high quality resolution and display, advanced design, and 5G connectivity.

According to Mobi Picker, Samsung's Galaxy S8 is assumed to have a 5.2-inch, 2.5K resolution with a Super AMOLED display and RGB sub-pixel feature. As per the publication, a bigger display would be possible for the S8, as the company may not want to utilize a design similar to the S6 and S7 for three consecutive times.

Aside from a flexible OLED design, Samsung's Galaxy S8 is also rumored to accentuate a sleeker and slimmer appearance, as well as a metallic arch frame, for a more modern design. With regard to memory, the S8 is speculated to run the Exunos 900 and the Snapdragon 830, which is the next-generation Snapdragon processor, as per Christian Today.

Samsung's Galaxy S8 is also speculated to feature a speedy fingerprint sensor, which can be embedded into the display itself; thus, if this is true, people may see the absence of the home button in the upcoming device. In terms of its camera, the S8 is expected to have a 16MP or 18MP camera with larger aperture, faster focus, and brighter LED.

In Aug. 2015, it was rumored that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge are set to have 5G connectivity; thus, they will be two of the first smartphones to feature the 4G successor, according to Galaxy 8 Info. As per the publication, such rumor could also apply to Samsung's Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9 Edge, Galaxy Note 8, and Galaxy Note Edge 4.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the five high-end Galaxy smartphones the Korean giant tech is set to introduce, with Galaxy S8 Edge, Galaxy Note 7, Galaxy Note 7 Edge, and the foldable smartphone Galaxy X, being the other four.

Samsung's Galaxy S8 and S8 Edge are assumed to be released in the first half of 2017, with high probability on or prior to the Mobile World Congress in Feb. 2017.
