Samsung must be counting the days for the Galaxy S8 release date considering the fiasco of the exploding battery on the Galaxy Note 7. The new flagship is also touted to feature a new design that could be a game changer for the smart phone market.

Although there's no confirmation from the South Korean firm, the Samsung Galaxy S8 release date could be from Mrch or April of 2017. There's not much to base this on other than the history of releases for the lineup.

From the original Galaxy S that was released on June 4, 2000, all the subsequent releases for the smart phone have been from March to May. Apparently, most people think that the company will not buck the trend now.

But if Samsung will announce the Galaxy S8 in February, nobody would be a least bit surprise. After all, the company will look to move forward from the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

Obviously that didn't happen since it retained the quad HD display of its predecessor.
Also, the processor coould be the Qualcomm X16, which would be a significant upgrade over the X12 of the S7, and mated to ARM Mali-G71 GPU. This could also be in preparation for the Gear VR since the X16 is touted to be capable of download speeds of 16Gbps, said the report.

At the very least, the price for the Samsung Galaxy S8 would be around $730 while the S8 Edge is expected to fetch a little more than $780.
