Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Upcoming Smartphone Comes Features Foldable Screen Display?

Samsung Galaxy S5, the current flagship smartphone of the South Korean tech giant, has failed to live up to the expectations of many tech aficionados, and now, Samsung is endeavoring to make the upcoming Galaxy S6 an innovative device that will help the company to regain its position in the smartphone market.

If latest rumors are to be believed, the upcoming Galaxy S6 will come with a foldable screen display. This view has gained ground from the fact that currently Samsung is engaged in improving the curved display, which was first seen in its Galaxy Note Edge with a view to make the device further flexible as well as foldable.

Christian Today reports that recently Lee Chang-hoon, Samsung vice-president (Business Strategic Team) told the investors that though the company is working on the foldable screen, it has not finalized it.

Many are of the view that this is an indication that the foldable screen may be in the final stage of development and may arrive on the market sometime soon.

There are also rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S6 is likely to be more well-built. It might have a metal body that Samsung displayed in its Galaxy Alpha handset. In addition to making the handset sturdier, it will also give the handset and sleek and premium look. The earlier models of Samsung handsets all have plastic coverings.

In addition to the futuristic screen display and metal cover, Samsung Galaxy S6 may also come with a high speed storage system called UFS, which will substitute for the internal and external memory cards.

While Samsung has yet to announce the specs of its upcoming device, there are rumors that it will have the same screen size as the Samsung S5 and 4K display screen, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810, a 21-MP rear camera and 6-MP front camera with full HD capture, 4 GB RAM, and a 4000 mAh battery.

While the launch date of the Samsung Galaxy S6 has not been confirmed, it is expected to be announced in early 2015, sometime before the next Mobile World Congress which is scheduled for March 2, 2015 in Barcelona.
