Samsung Galaxy Round Features, Specs / First Curved Display Smartphone Announced Today, October Release Date in Korea [VIDEO]

Samsung just announced the Galaxy Round today, the first smartphone with a curved display.

Don't like the way your flat phone slides perfectly into your pocket? Then the Galaxy Round might be the device for you.

As for specs the Galaxy Round features many of the same advancements as the rest of the Galaxy line. It has a huge 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display. The Round runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and has a 2.3GHz quad-core processor. Storage options include 32GB or 64GB.

The Galaxy Round also features a 13-megapixel camera on the back.

To help combat the huge curved screen, Samsung developed "One-Hand Operation" features that force many of the controls to the side of the screen.

The phone also features a Roll Effect that allows the user to tilt the phone, which slides notifications like battery levels quickly without needing to use two hands.

The Galaxy Round is 7.9mm thick and weighs in at 154 grams.

The new Samsung phone features a 2,800 mAh battery and is currently only being sold in Korea.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the new Galaxy Round will come at a steep price, $1,013. A "Luxury Brown" color model will be launched later in the month.
