Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Sept 3 Launch? Features to Blow Away Galaxy S5

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the next generation phablet, is rumored to have a release date by the end of Q3 in time for IFN 2014.

Latest leaks claim that the Galaxy Note 4 could be better than the most recent Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S5, with features including an improved fingerprint scanner, 64-bit processor, curved screen, and a 20-megapixel camera.

Samsung has not yet confirmed whether or not Galaxy Note 4 will be launched on September 3, but following the release of the Note 3 on September 26, 2013, it is most likely that the Korean mobile giant will follow a similar schedule and a September 2014 release date is highly likely.

There is also no official news about the specific features yet, but tech enthusiasts are anticipating that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is going to be better than Galaxy S5 in terms of processor, camera capabilities, and health-related apps.

According to TechRadar, the Note 4 will have an expanded 5.9-inch to 6.0-inch display, slightly larger than the 5.7-inch screen of Galaxy Note 3.  Also, Samsung may finally adopt curved screen technology not only for aesthetic reasons but also for battery preservation.

Unfortunately, there are rumors that the Galaxy Note 4 will not bear AMOLED technology but PLS LCD.  The reason behind is that using the latter would cut production costs by 20%, which may probably give customers a slightly lower price than it otherwise would be.

Another rumored notable feature of the Galaxy Note 4, according to market expectations, is that it will have no bezel edges, similar to the rumored upcoming iPhone 6.  Part of Samsung's patent innovation is the curved multi-sided screen with application buttons on the side for easy access of programs like camera, email, messages, and settings.

Given Galaxy Note 3's 13-megapixel camera and Galaxy S5's 16-megapixel rear shooter, it is anticipated that Galaxy Note 4 will feature a massive 20-megapixel camera which, if true, would be the best Samsung camera so far.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4's roll out is expected to be under the Android KitKat 4.4.3 OS.
