Boston starter Felix Doubront (1-2) suffered the defeat for the Red Sox two nights ago. The Red Sox look to defeat White Sox starter Erik Johnson (0-1) tonight. The Red Sox starter Jake Peavy looks to get his first win the season for Boston against his former team the White Sox tonight.

"I said, 'I know you wanted an Old Man Peavy but you're going to get our lefty Thursday night.' I said, 'You're going to be the best left-hander, you've got to surpass this guy that we're throwing at you,'" said Peavy to reporters in reference to his friend and former teammate White Sox starter Chris Sale. "Thursday night will be fun. Chris Sale is such a good kid and one of my dear, dear buddies, and I pull for him and still keep in good contact with him on a weekly basis really. Two pretty good left-handers going at you Thursday night."

The White Sox defeated the Cleveland Indians by the final score of 4-3 on Sunday. The White Sox relief pitcher Matt Lindstrom (1-1) got the victory for Chicago two days ago. The White Sox are hoping their starter Erik Johnson will out duel Red Sox starter Jake Peavy when the two men oppose each other tonight.

"It will be strange. We enjoyed having him here and he was a good pitcher," White Sox skipper Robin Ventura in reference to Peavy. "I'm sure guys will have fun. They will try to do something to distract him, I'm sure."
