Andy Mineo is gearing up to release his sophomore album Uncomfortable in September and in a recent interview on Sway in the morning he explained a line off of his song of the same title, which touches the subject of homosexuality and the way some Christians react.

In Mineo's song "Uncomfortable" he speaks on the negative way some people have treated homosexuals in the name of Christianity. During his visit on 'Sway in the Morning' the popular host asked him about that particular lyric.

"I apologize for Christians with pickets sayin', 'God hates fags'?I promise Jesus wouldn't act like that," Sway read Mineo's line. He pointed out that those were some risky lyrics. "That might get you in trouble with a couple religious folks. Your not concerned?" he inquired.

Mineo responded. "Whatever.... The Bible is so clear He says love your neighbor as you love yourself. the people who are next to you, everybody in this room, God caused me to love them, despite what they believe, what their religious views are, their sexual orientation is."

The Reach Records rapper who has purposed his music to be from a Christian worldview went on to explain, "I mean cause that's what Jesus did for us, at the cross He died for people who didn't love Him."

Mineo quoted the scripture found in the Bible during the time of Jesus' crucifixion, highlighting the fact that He asked His Father to forgive the very people that were torturing Him to death.

"This is what separates Jesus from every other religion in my mind. He's saying to His enemies 'I love you and care for you in spite what you're doing to me' and I think that's the exact response I have for this," the New York native said comparing Jesus' reaction to the way some Christians behave.

"I apologize for the way that Christians in the church have treated homosexuals because no body should be mistreated in this world for what they believe, nobody!" he continued, "The abuse to them is just unacceptable if people really believe the Gospel. If people really believe that they have undeserving love from God then how can keep it from anybody else?"

As the interview progressed and moved on a forthright Mineo later was questioned by a caller who peacefully disagreed with Mineo's stance on the LGBT matter. The caller said, "God was against Homosexuality, like Sodom and Gomorrah," but Mineo maintained, people need to not take parts of the Bible out of context.

"I think love is going to be the thing that helps conquer and change things. I think love is going to be what helps bring people to change and repentance it's not going to be judging them," he concluded.
