'Prison Break' Season 5 Cast, Release Date News: ‘Scandal’ Actor Paul Edelstein Returns to Upcoming Series

"Scandal" actor Paul Adelstein has been confirmed to be part of the upcoming "Prison Break" revival once again.

According to TV Line, Adelstein, who played the role of secret service agent-turned-congressman Paul Kellerman in Fox's 2005 series "Prison Break," is set to reprise his role on the series' revival. As per the publication, the actor is set to join other "Prison Break" returnees, which include Rockmund Dunbar, Robert Knepper, Amaury Nolasco, Sarah Wayne Callies, and Dominic Purcell, among others.

"Prison Break's" revival stands as a sequel to the first four seasons of the series. According to Variety, the next chapter suggests that Michael, who was previously assumed to be dead, could be alive. In addition, Lincoln and Sara get together to pursue the series' "biggest escape ever," which involved the big three "most notorious escapees" - T-Bag, Sucre, and C-Note.

Created by "The Experiment" and "A Man Apart" writer and producer Paul Scheuring, "Prison Break" followed an innocent man who is sent to death row, with his brother serving as his only hope. His brother intentionally gets himself sent to the same prison in order to break them out.

Aside from Adelstein, the 2005 series also starred Wade Williams, William Fichtner, Marshall Allman, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, and Leon Russom, among others. With several of the original series' cast reprising their roles in the revival project, it is assumed that there could be more who would return.

Filming will commence in April in Vancouver. The "Prison Break" revival is set to premiere in the 2016-2017 television season, with the exact date yet to be announced.
