Popular CBN Anchor Wendy Griffith to Be Honored At National Women's Conference for Christian Women in Media [VIDEO]

Media professionals from across the country will honor CBN anchor Wendy Griffith during the Annual National Media Conference presented by the Christian Women in Media Association (CWIMA) April 30 through May 2, 2015 in Dallas, Texas.

Griffith will receive the 2015 CWIMA Platinum Award for Excellence in Communication during the conference gala in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel located at 4099 Valley View Lane, Dallas, Texas 75244. Mark Fincannon, Vice-President of Fincannon & Associates Motion Picture and Television Casting will receive the CWIMA Lifetime Achievement Award.

Griffith is the anchor of the Christian Broadcasting Network World News as well as co-anchor of CBN's 700 Club. Wendy reports on a wide range of issues for CBN News and Christian World News. After a year as the network's Congressional Correspondent on Capitol Hill, she moved to the Virginia Beach headquarters in 2000 to concentrate on stories with a more spiritual emphasis. She has also traveled internationally, covering stories such as the hostage drama of missionaries Martin and Gracia Burnham in the Philippines, the spiritual crisis over homosexuality in the Episcopal Church, and more recently the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah in northern Israel. Wendy is the coauthor, with Craig Buseck, of Praying the News.

Mark Fincannon will provide the keynote address for the Platinum Awards Gala. He will share his vast knowledge of the film and television industry. His company, Fincannon & Associates Motion Picture and Television Casting, is the winner of three Primetime Emmy Awards and has produced or worked with over 125 feature films, 200 episodics, 125 movies of the week, hundreds of commercials, as well as six mini-series. Among Fincannon's great casting decisions; selecting Sandra Bullock for the lead role in the movie The Blind Side.

The presentation of these awards is intended to be an incentive for the continued pursuit of excellence for Christians working in the industry. The CWIMA Platinum Awards Gala is May 2 at 7 p.m. The new singing duo, Le Sorelle, is comprised of sisters Erica Lane and Ashley Lundquist. Their signature blend captivates audiences young and old, displaying complex harmonies and elegant vocals paired with stunning performances.
