'Pokémon Go' Update, Latest News: Pokemon Evolution Animation Speeds Up; Catch Bonus; Gym Training

Niantic and Nintendo's "Pokemon GO" update makes a big change to the face of the games, particularly on Pokemon evolution, as per reports.

A major change Pokemon players are set to face with the new "Pokemon" update, version 0.41.2 for iOS and 1.11.2 for Android, is the reduced animation time while the Pokemon evolves in game, Heavy has learned. As per the publication, it also impacts the lucky egg sessions, which further boosts the XP a player obtains in game.

The lengthy Pokemon evolution time has been a subject of complaint for some "Pokemon GO" players, as they find it time-consuming. As per the report, Niantic or Pokemon is yet to provide details on the new animated evolution time; however, the update will allow players evolve more eggs within 30 minutes.

According to Niantic, the update also covers Catch Bonus, where trainers can earn bonuses when they catch more Pokemon of a certain type. A case in point is catching Bulbasaur, Bellsprout, and Oddish, which are all grass-type Pokemon.

The game upgrade also features an updated Gym Training. Just like in the "Pokemon" video games, trainers can bring with them six Pokemon to friendly Gym battles, as per Niantic's official website. In this feature, the player's battling Pokemon's CP may be reduced for the training session. However, it is only temporary.

In terms of hatching eggs, the update also brings a change to the egg and incubator screens. According to the patch notes, they will periodically update the distanced walked by the trainer, without the latter having to close and open the screen again.

Along with aforementioned, the patch also adds some minor fixes, such as audio issues.

Developed by Niantic, "Pokemon GO" was initially released for iOS and Android on July 6.
