Plumb Partners with Food For The Hungry to Launch Little Ones; Campaign Looks to Help Kids Through Their First 1000 Days

Christian singer Plumb is partnering with Food For The Hungry to launch a new organization called the Little Ones.

This campaign will focus on the first 1000 days of a child's life, which in impoverished places, leads to extreme malnutrition. Little Ones is currently being promoted through Plumb's 'Stories of Hope' tour.

The organization was born out of a trip Plumb made with her family to Guatemala where she met a sponsored child named Jacqueline. This child was 16 pounds and assumably an infant. However, Plumb was shocked to learn the child was in fact five years-old, the same age as her own who is 43-pounds.

"Malnutrition in the first three years of a child's life can cause permanent damage in development, including stunted growth, illness, learning disabilities and even death," the press release reads, "By focusing their work on the first 1000 days of a child's life, Food for the Hungry works directly with mothers and community leaders to help reverse the cycles of poverty, creating an environment for positive mental, physical and immune system development."

This will be taking place in Guatemala and Bolivia, two areas that suffer with malnutrition in children.

"Our partnership with Plumb was such an obvious and natural fit from the very beginning. Tiffany's passion, ability and calling to share Hope is perfectly in line with our mission to inspire hope and end poverty together. We could not be more thrilled to be part of the Stories of Hope Tour," said Milam Byers of Food For The Hungry in a press release.
