Contemporary Christian vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist Phil Wickham is set to release another album this year.

Wickham took to Facebook to announce some details on his forthcoming new album release, which is titled "Children of God," as per The Christian Beat. According to the publication, the new album title is a record that had been more than a year in the making and it is going to hit the market in April.

In his interview with The Christian Beat, Wickham gave his thoughts about the inspiration behind "Children of God." The Christian musician said that it was hard to put into words how excited he was to share his new project with people. He added that they had poured their hearts and souls into the project over the past year and he could not wait to share the music to all.

Wickham also detailed that he had lost his voice a year and a half ago and he had been forced to undergo surgery on his vocal chords with the risk of not being to sing professionally again. He added that during the hardships at that point, God had spoken the simple yet massive truth into his heart that He loved him and His people

According to Wickham, the people were God's first and foremost His children and whatever people might be faced with with them were His. He added that the new found sense of identity many of their songs have been written were a response to His love and a call to others who had lost sight of or had never heard this truth.

For Wickham, the people are God's and there was nothing to fear. He added that people had only hope in front of them and they were the "Children of God."

In a separate report from The Christian Beat, Wickham will be joining Newboys, Mandisa, and Jeremy Camp, among others on The Rock and Worship Roadshow this year. The tour, with a sum of 27 dates, would start in Springfield in February, according to the publication.

Wickham's "Children of God" album is set to hit stores on Apr. 8.
