Pastor Mark Driscoll Breaks Silence on Mars Hill Church Resignation; Says He's Received Death Threats & Children Have Been Harrassed

Former Mars Hill pastor Mark Driscoll has finally spoken out since his resignation announcement last week.

He briefly talked at the Gateway Conference in Texas and was there only as an attendee, reported Charisma News.

"That was big of him to just come and be ministered to," said the church's pastor, Robert Morris. "We could crucify him, but since someone's already been crucified for him...It's very sad that in the church, we're the only army that shoots at our wounded. And I'd like you to stop it."

According to the report, Driscoll walked up to the pulpit to a standing ovation and proceeded to speak for three minutes.

"There are a lot of things I could say that would make me feel better. I don't know if it would make me look better, but I don't think it would make Jesus look better," he said. "I've cried a lot lately. It's been a rough season for the family."

Driscoll also shared his family has been harassed non-stop. He has received death threats, rocks have been thrown at his children, and he has found rusty nails on his driveway. In addition to this, media helicopters have been flying over his house.

Ultimately Driscoll said he is looking to Jesus to help him find the "blind spots" in his life.

The controversial pastor has been accused of bullying followers, plagiarism, and taking too much control of his church in terms of "making it about him."
