Pacquiao vs Mayweather Fight Latest Update Rumors: Filipino Boxer Reveals New Details Regarding Upcoming Match

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao recently revealed the current status of the highly-desired, but not yet confirmed, fight against Prizefighting icon Floyd Mayweather.

"There are serious negotiations with the Mayweather camp and my promoter," said Pacquiao when he promoted his upcoming match with WBO Light Welterweight champion Chris Algieri, according to an IB Times report.

Pacquiao will defend his welterweight belt against Algieri at The Venetian Macao in Macau, SAR on November 22.

Pacquiao's Top Rank Promotions advocate Bob Arum also discussed the current negotiations between his client and the unbeaten 37-year-old Grand Rapids, Michigan native and the possibility of both men fighting in multiple matches at HBO and Showtime PPV events.

"Both [TV] networks want this to happen. All signs seem to point to a first fight early next year," said Arum, "A second fight in the autumn would provide a different cash split because the winner of the first would claim the higher percentage. As each of them believes he would win, that provides an extra incentive."

In another interview, Arum talked about Mayweather's legacy as one of the greatest boxers in history.

"Mayweather values his zero, his undefeated record more than life itself ... Remember now this isn't a guy that has a lot of depth, this is a guy who lives on the surface as I see and being undefeated for him is everything," said Arum, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Mayweather also addressed the rumors that he will battle with 'Pac-Man' when he promoted his upcoming rematch with Marcos Maidana for Mayweather's WBC light middleweight, WBA (Super), WBC and The Ring welterweight championship belts at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on September 13, 2014.

"Not true," Mayweather, according a MLive report, "I can't say what the future holds. But as of right now, I think Arum and Pacquiao's trying to sell tickets for - I don't even know the guy's name, Algieri? They're trying to sell tickets for that fight."

The 35-year-old Philippines native revealed when he expects to battle 'Money' Mayweather in a highly-anticipated bout.

"Probably for next year," said Pacquiao.
