Starting Thursday, Aug. 24 at 8 p.m. Eastern, Christian Cinema, in partnership with Life Action Ministries, will release a unique mini-series event called The Wasteland. Each week on Thursday night for the next five weeks, a new episode will broadcast via Facebook LIVE on Christian Cinema and Life Action's Facebook pages and exclusively through the Christian Cinema app, available in the App Store for your favorite device, or on the web at www.ChristianCinema.com.
According to Facebook, there are nearly 2 billion people active every month on the Facebook platform. Bobby Downes, CEO of ChristianCinema.com says, "We are excited to partner with Life Action for the broadcast and release of The Wasteland on Christian Cinema Facebook Live. We believe Facebook is the future of television as we have seen a tremendous response from showing Bible centric content on Facebook Live."
At the cutting edge, Christian Cinema broadcasted the first-ever television series on Facebook Live in April 2017 with the premiere of the National Bible Bee Game Show which reached more than 1.2 million viewers per episode.
Downes added, "We expect to reach more than 2 million people with The Wasteland which is our first foray into broadcasting episodic short film content."
Aaron Paulus, Executive Producer of The Wasteland, said, "This unique mini-series was designed to reach a digital audience, and we are excited about the far-reaching potential through various social communities."
Beginning with the release of the first episode on Aug. 24, episodes will be available on ChristianCinema.com and across all of its apps: iOS, Apple TV, Roku, Android, Amazon Fire TV and Tablets. In addition, the series will be available on TheWastelandSeries.com via Christian Cinema's proprietary embeddable player which empowers content creators to offer digital content from their own sites.
