Orange is the New Black Season 2 Release Date: Netflix Premiere Spoilers Revealed By Google Search Engine? (Trailer Video)

The Orange is the New Black Season 2 premiere has a rumored release date of April 25, 2014 - a date that has been thrown in the rumor mill by none other than search engine Google, after an unprecedented leak.

A simple Google search of the phrase "Orange is the New Black," recently revealed the unconfirmed release date of April 25. The date has only partial credence, as official sources have failed to comment on it. Even so, there is widespread excitement, as April 25th would align with Netflix's purported spring 2014 second season for the show.

Orange is the New Black was a breakaway success when it was added to the Netflix streaming library on July 11, 2013. The series follows Piper, (Taylor Schilling,) the middle-class graduate of a liberal arts school who is convicted for a decade old drug smuggling charge.

The show follows the ups and downs of the prison inmates, including the former girlfriend and accomplice of bi-sexual Piper, Alex (Lauren Prepon) who involved her in the drug-smuggling activity to begin with.

The show now has a large following, incorporating over 680,000 likes on Facebook, and 175,000 followers on Twitter. Many hail its dark humor, saying that it skirts a delicate balance using comedy that does not detract from its salient dramatic or sociological themes.

To the dismay of fans, there were many rumors that Alex (Prepon) would not be returning as a character in the Season 2. Fortunately, in an interview to US Weekly, creator Jenji Kohan has dispelled that claim: "Yes, yes, she is coming back," Kohan confirmed. "Not the whole season, but...you'll see her for most of it."

Kohan is not totally assured of a season three at this moment, but according to Enstars, she may Season 3 to focus on the life of the guards as well as the show's inmates.
