'Orange Is The New Black' Cast Weigh in on New Political Thriller 'Persecuted' at NYC Premiere (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

BreatheCast attended the New York premiere of the film 'Persecuted' over the weekend and spoke with actresses Tanya Wright and Laura Gomez from 'Orange is the New Black'.

"I am excited to see the cast. It's a very nice cast," said Gomez, "I'm very much into films and I'm curious as to what it's all about."

The film 'Persecuted' discusses the topic of people's rights, and shows how when someone's rights are taken away there is a powerful consequence, "How important are your rights to you, especially as women on such a powerful show?" asked BreatheCast.

"Talk about rights being taken away, we shoot in a prison," Wright said, "It's a great question, it's a global question, it has to do with human beings and in this case it has to do with spirituality, which is something that I'm very very interested in. So I'm excited, I'm excited to see it."

They were then asked about what advice they would have if their rights were being infringed upon, "How do you stand up for yourselves as strong women in Hollywood?"

"Well I think it's very important to know what your principles are. That should always guide your choices and decisions. Sometimes we are not in power of those rights taken away, but I personally like to be involved with certain causes," Gomez said, "In our case, we work with such an amazing topic. We've been involved with the Women in Prison Association, women's rights. In my case, Latino rights and Latino involvement with the community. Get involved with whatever your principles are."
