North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Un Executed Ex Girlfriend and Purged Uncle from Government: Should NBA Star Dennis Rodman Be Allowed to Visit NK Ruler? [Photo]
North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Un dismissed his own uncle from the NK government early yesterday for crimes against the state. The State TV aired several images of Kim Jong Un's uncle being escorted out of a meeting by two armed guards. North Korea experts say that he was the second highest ranking man in North Korea behind Kim Jong Un himself.
Andrei Lankov, a North Korea expert, told USA Today, "Kim Jung Un wants to show his officials and the world that in spite of being short and fat, and with a strange haircut, he is not a person to be taken lightly, and not a person to mess with. A majority of the current North Korean top leaders are going to disappear in the near future. These old men in their 60s and 70s have world views dramatically different from Kim Jung Un."
This new scandal from North Korea comes on the tail end of the execution of Kim Jong Un's ex-girlfriend by firing squad. Hyon Song Wol was accused of making a sex tape with other members of her orchestra, a violation of the country's pornography laws.
Dennis Rodman has recently been visiting North Korea to set up an NBA exhibition game with other retired basketball stars. Some critics think that Rodman may cause a rift in the delicate relationship between NK and the United States. Do you think that Dennis Rodman should be allowed to enter into NK to hang out with Kim Jong Un? Let us know what you think in the comments!
