Nick Jonas Says He No Longer Wears Purity Ring; Does on Screen Sex Scenes but Maintains a Relationship God [VIDEO]

Singer and now actor Nick Jonas stopped by Huff Post Live on Tuesday to discuss his new music and cable series, but after some prying questions, he revealed that he no longer wears his purity ring. Additionally, he went on to talk about performing adult scenes on screen, while still holding onto some of his Christian values.

Jonas has been trying to shed his squeaky-clean image with his solo venture and acting career. When asked about whether or not he still wears his promise ring he quickly responded.

"This is a real growth in me and not something I'm doing anymore. But I've got my set of values, things that are important to me now at this point in my life and that's all that matters," the 22-year-old birthday boy said.

"I've had an incredibly intense journey with faith and religion and my own growth. My belief in God is still very strong and important to me as a person and I think that's all that should matter," he continued, "The other things around it are not as important to me as my relationship with God. There's a lot of things I feel like I agree with and a lot of things I don't."

Jonas has been an advocate for homosexuality and marriage equality and now frequently performs in gay clubs. Although his views oppose common church culture the singer said, "I grew up in a church environment and still have love for the church."

"What's important now is my relationship with God," he continued on HuffPost Live, "and that I not judge and that I not be judged."

The news of Jonas' change came as a shock to some of his loyal Christian fans because the brothers were very vocal about their faith. The youngest Jonas himself got his start as a solo Christian artist signed to INO Records, but later lost that deal.

Although Jonas' latest material is being pegged risqué he maintains his relationship with God is still going strong. What are your thoughts? Share your thoughts in the comments section.
