Christian rapper NF's "Let You Down" which was co-written and produced by longtime friend Tommee Profitt has earned the artist and his publisher Capitol CMG their first pop No. 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 and Hot Christian Songs Charts.
The global, multi-genre track has sold over 5.8 million copies worldwide and is platinum in 16 countries, in addition to landing in the top 10 at radio in over ten countries. Yesterday, "Let You Down" and Profitt were recognized with a No. 1 party at the ASCAP building on Nashville's music row.
"Humbled beyond words," explains Profitt. "A Top 40 No. 1 is never something that was even on my radar. I feel so grateful for the opportunity to make music with one of my best friends. NF is one of the most talented artists I know, and it's been an honor to be a part of his journey since the beginning. So thankful for my entire team at Capitol CMG Publishing and Universal Music Publishing Group, this entire experience has been a dream."
Being a long-time collaborator with NF, Profitt treasures a friendship with the artist dating back to their Michigan roots, NF's latest No. 1 album Perception was produced by Profitt and is currently at 1.25 billion streams and 1 million albums globally.
