Newsboys Release 'Hallelujah for the Cross'; Album Updates Classic Hymns with Modern Twist [TRACK LISTING]

Today Christian pop rock group the Newsboys released their highly anticipated hymns album, Hallelujah for the Cross.

The 10 track record takes some of the most classic hymns and updates them for today with the Newsboys' own little twist on it.

They have already released a video for their title track, which can be seen below:


Some of the album's other tracks are: "Jesus Paid It All," "Holy, Holy, Holy," "It Is Well," and "All Creatures Of Our God And King." The album also features a new arrangement of classic Newsboys songs "Where You Belong" with "Turn Your Eyes."

"Growing up in the church, hymns were an essential component of traditional worship. For as long as we can recall, we have loved the very essence of hymns," said singer Michael Tait in an official statement, "The writers of many of these majestic pieces wrote them during very painful, trying times of distress but Redeemed places. To this day, the hymns of old still move us like nothing else, and by having the opportunity to bring focus back to them today in a modern style, we hope that they shall never die."

The Newsboys embarked on their 35 city 'We Believe' tour with Family Force 5 and 7eventh Time Down. The tour will be benefiting the Feed the Children organization along the way.

The tour began on September 18 and will finish up November 16.

At every show, fans will have an opportunity to sponsor a child enrolled in the Feed the Children program. Also, the Newsboys will be doing special VIP promotions that will let fans arrive at shows early, give them a laminate along with a tour poster, the Restart CD, and access to a Q&A, meet and greet, and autograph signing.
