New iPhone Release Date News: Will Apple Unveil iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus on Sept. 9

A recent report in Buzzfeed has claimed that Apple may unveil its upcoming flagship smartphones, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus on Sept. 9. In fact, the speculation is based on the fact that the Cupertino-based tech titan released its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the best selling handset from the company thus far, on the same date last year.

A report in Christian Today states that as far as the specs of the upcoming handsets are concerned, prevailing rumors claim that these two flagships will sport the Force Touch feature. In fact, Nowhereelse.fr has recently released photos that supposedly provide some evidence that the next iPhones will have the feature, which was first seen on the Apple Watch.

The Force Touch undertakes different functions, subject to the amount of pressure applied by the user's touch. As Apple has already incorporated the feature on the new Macbook, it is likely that the upcoming iPhones will also have it.

According to Forbes, Force Touch requires direct access to contact the surface. The photographs posted by Nowhereelse.fr reveal the iPhone 6s featuring a small rectangular access panel etched into metal plate and it is believed that this may possibly be the element the device requires for the Force Touch feature to function.

Meanwhile, speaking to Business Insider, Cole Rise, who created the iPhone photography app Litely, revealed that there will be "a lot about it in terms of its capabilities."

Rise explained, "Say, if you wanted to change the color of something, you could Force Touch and it would change that." He further said, "We have this awesome before and after thing where we have to use two fingers, and people don't necessarily know how to do that without reading the instructions. [You place] two fingers on the screen to see how your picture changes. Force Touch may be a really good way to alleviate that."

Apple is, however, still silent on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Nevertheless, it is expected that the tech giant will release fresh details soon, especially with less than a month to go before the purported launch.
