The new season of "NCIS" is set to premiere in a few days and recent reports suggest that Gibbs will spend a lot of time with Tobias C. Formell.
Season 14's premiere episode is titled "Rogue." According to reports, viewers will often see Gibbs and Tobias together since the duo will be roommates in the new season. Their association is nothing new for viewers, especially since there are several common things that the two characters share.
According to reports, while the duo shares long years of friendship, the new season will see them rubbing each other up the wrong way. "NCIS" executive producer Gary Glasberg teased that viewers should be prepared to enjoy some jovial and light-hearted elements in the upcoming season of the show. However, they should also prepare to see the characters going through some trying times.
Glasberg revealed that the chief may go through some challenges in the new season, especially since DiNozzo is already gone and needs to be replaced. In the premiere episode, Alex Quinn will ask why the chief rejected all the potential applicants she had sent to take the departed character's place.
The premiere episode will find a fresh case involving undercover agent Nick Torres.
Other spoilers for the new season also suggest that season 14 will showcase events that will pick up threads months after the exit of Tony. According to Glasberg, the intent of the new season is to "move the show forward, and try some things, and do something different."
"NCIS" season 14 premieres on September 20 on CBS.
