NCIS Season 12 Spoilers, Cast Rumors: Will Cote de Pablo Reprise Role As Ziva David In New Season?

The long-running police procedural drama NCIS has been renewed for its 12th Season by the CBS network, however, fans wonder whether Cote de Pablo will return to play Ziva David?

While the contracts of five regular actors on the show expired this spring, a report with TVLine says that Sean Murray, Pauley Perrette, David McCallum, and Rocky Carroll have renewed their respective contracts for two years and will feature in Season 12 as well as Season 13. In addition to them, several other cast members, including Emily Wickersham, Brian Bietzen and Mark Harmon, will also return to the show, as their present contracts will see them featuring in next few seasons of NCIS.

Now that the main actors have been confirmed for their return in the next seasons of the show, viewers want to know if Cote de Pablo will return to the series as Ziva David in Season 12 as well. She had quit the show at the beginning of Season 11, although rumors said she would be returning at the end of it, this rumor did not play out.

Meanwhile, Gary Galsberg, press tour executive producer of Television Critics Association, told TVLine that he finds it quite unusual that neither Ziva nor Tony are in communication. In an interview with TVLine, he said "A lot of people have approached me about the idea of not shutting the door entirely on (their staying in touch), and I'm not opposed to it," adding, "But it has to be done in a way where it feels organic to the storytelling and we're not just throwing in lines about Ziva here and there."

Galsberg continued, "If Tony's in a personal relationship or there's something significant happening for him and he wondered how she would respond, then maybe we can figure out a way to do it. It's a valid issue to bring up."

According to Glasberg, the issue of Gibbs' second wife will be dealt with in the upcoming season of NCIS. "I can promise you that (the mystery wife) is probably going to get touched on in Season 12," said Glasberg, adding "I have a little tiny space on my Dry Erase board for stories for next season, and that's already up there."
