‘NBA 2K15’ Release Date Announcement: PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC Versions Launch Oct. 7

The highly anticipated videogame title 'NBA 2K15' will hit the market on the recently announced date of October 7.

The new version of the NBA game will have several new features that basketball fans and avid gamers will enjoy. For instance, the game is going to feature face scanning technology which would allow players to create their own characters by capturing a 3D image of their face.

The idea for this new technology has been with the creators for several years now, but they are only incorporating it now, since they've finally perfected it.

"We've been talking about doing this for a number of years, but it really wasn't possible until we knew the processing power of the next-gen machines. It took some time to get it right," said Jeff Thomas, vice president of sports development at 'NBA 2K15' developer Visual Concepts.

In addition to the face scanning technology, the upcoming NBA videogame will also feature an in-game broadcast program, "NBA 2KTV," for the next-generation and PC versions.

"NBA 2KTV," presented by sports broadcast personality Rachel DeMita, will highlight important game details and give updates on the latest "2K" happenings.

The concept of in-game broadcasting is expected to visually appeal not only to gamers, but also to basketball fans.

The game will also come with "Injuries 2.0," a new injury system that provides players with unique durability rating for 16 different body parts, including feet and ankles.

This feature provides gamers information as to what body part a certain character is most likely to be injured, thus making the concept of injuries less random, and more player specific.

Reports say that the game creators will not release a game demo, and will not allow early access either. Gamers, however, are said to be not bothered by this announcement, since the NBA game series makers have established that they are capable of producing improved gameplay in each version.

'NBA 2K15' will be released for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC on Oct. 7.
