Natalie Grant's 'Hurricane' Receives Four Dove Award Nominations Including 'Song of the Year'

Popular Christian artist Natalie Grant received four Dove Award nominations this year for her hit album Hurricane.

The actual title track, "Hurricane," earned three nominations for Song of the Year, Contemporary Christian Performance of the Year, and Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year. The song "I Love the Lord" earned a Gospel Performance of the Year nomination while her husband, Bernie Herms, received a nominee for Producer of the Year.

Grant was recently part of the cast of the 'Persecuted' movie, which was released on July 18.

"I chose to be a part of this movie, not because I was trying to grandstand on any particular issue, but honestly, because I thought it would be fun and different and a challenge for me," Grant wrote on her Facebook page, "However, I also decided to do it because I have personally experienced that some who are screaming loudest for tolerance are the ones who are displaying the greatest intolerance. I do not believe you can legislate morality, and I am not a proponent of trying to force my beliefs or view of righteousness on anyone. I'm much more a proponent of living what you believe, instead of shouting it or waving it on a sign."

She also wrapped up hosting the first season of 'It Takes a Church', which is a Christian matchmaking game show.

"I am absolutely thrilled to join GSN and the great folks I'll meet as host of 'It Takes A Church,'" said Grant to the Christian Post when the show was still in its pilot stage, "Church has always played such a vital role in my life, and I'm really excited to watch these congregations help their fellow parishioners find love!"
