Motown Gospel Receives 9 GMA Dove Award Nominations for Artists Anita Wilson, Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago and Tasha Cobbs.

 

Motown Gospel received nine GMA Dove Award nominations for artists Anita Wilson, Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago and Tasha Cobbs.

Wilson was nominated for categories: Contemporary Female of the Year, Praise & Worship CD of the Year (for Worship Soul) and Urban Inspirational Single or Performance of the Year (for "Speechless"). Wilson was received a Grammy nomination for album Worship Soul for Best Gospel Album of the Year. New York Times named the album as one of the top Gospel albums of 2012.

Charles Jenkins & Fellowship Chicago received three nominations for Gospel Performance of the Year, Traditional Gospel Album of the Year and Songwriter for Traditional Gospel Song of the Year. Their album Best of Both Worlds took the top position on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart for 3 weeks straight. Best of Both Worlds had the highest debut for a new artist in 2012 and was the 10th best-selling gospel album for an artist in 2012. Hit single "Awesome" started at #1 on the Billboard's Hot Gospel Song Chart and stayed in its #1 spot for over 20 weeks!

Tasha Cobbs Break Every Chain single spent seven weeks on Billboard's Hot Gospel chart in the #1 spot.  Grace is currently #3 on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart and has never fallen below #6 since its February 5 release. Grace is produced by multiple award-winning artist VaShawn Mitchell

This year the 44th annual Gospel Music Awards will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Allen Arena of Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.
