Notwithstanding the fact that an updated version of the Moto X was launched in September 2014, there are already speculations that Motorola is planning to release a brand new Moto X 2015 at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona.

Christian Today reports that Ricciolo, a Twitter user and Sony tipster, claims that Motorola is considering unveiling a major smartphone soon. While Ricciolo did not disclose anything precisely regarding the purported smartphone and the device's launch date, speculations hint that the handset will succeed the Moto X. In addition, as the Mobile World Congress event is round the corner, there are speculations that the device will be launched at the upcoming trade show in Barcelona.

The Twitter post by Ricciolo reads, "Are you looking for a FLAGSHIP 'SMARTER' than any others 'smartphones'??? I can give you an 'HINT'... Coming Soon...."

If the rumor mill is to be believed, apart from a new Moto X, the company will also showcase another smartphones at the MWC. Android Police claimed that it spotted a photo of a purported low-end Motorola smartphone, which may possibly be a successor to the Moto E. The tech blog also claimed that the purported smartphone will come with superior specs than its predecessor.

The photo posted on the website shows that upgrades include a modified design making it look akin to the Moto G. In addition, the on-screen navigation buttons of the device in the photograph suggest that it will run with Google's latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The photo of the supposed device also displays a single speaker grille, while the main rear camera of the handset does not have LED flash support.

In addition, the purported second generation Moto E features include a 4.3-inch qHD (960x 540 pixels) display, quad-core processor, 5.0-megapixel camera, 4G-LTE support in addition to other standard connectivity features.

It is worth mentioning here that the Moto E became popular owing to its affordable price and the current handset costs about $150, mainly due to its inferior quality specs and features.
