Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Fifth Generation Surface Pro Arrives June Or October This Year?

In line with the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, it is rumored that the device is set to be launched before the calendar hits the third quarter of the year. Also, specification rumors reveal that the device is set to have a bigger 4K resolution screen and Kaby Lake processor.

According to Release Date Portal, Microsoft may launch its Surface Pro 5 either June or October this year. The aforementioned release months present possibility, but no guarantee, that they would happen this year, since the Surface Pro 3 was announced in May 2014 and was released in June of the same year while the Surface Pro 4 was announced in Oct. 2015 and was released in the same month of the year.

As per the publication, October would be the more feasible choice than June, if Microsoft were to select a month to release the Surface Pro 5. However, some reports suggest that the fifth generation Surface Pro might not hit the market this year, in line with the delay of the Windows 10 second major update release, which is in the spring of 2017. But then, such details should be taken as a grain of salt, as Microsoft has yet to make an official announcement.

With regard the specifications, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is set to run the higher generation Kaby Lake processor, which is set to be revealed by Intel at the forthcoming Computer event on May 31 in Taipei, Tech Times has learned. In addition, the device is bound to feature a 4K Ultra HD display with 3,840 by 2,160 resolution, which suggests clarity of text, images, and videos.

Along with the stylus called the Surface Pen, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also set to feature a bigger battery, which indicates more than the nine hours usage time of the Surface Pro 4. It is also revealed the the forthcoming device has more controlled power issues than its predecessors.

For the time being, Microsoft has yet to make an announcement on the launch of the Surface Pro 5, but it is expected to be launched in June or October.
