Microsoft Surface Book 2 Release Date News, Price Rumors: Set For Q1 2017 Launch?

There's no news yet on the Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date although the rumor mill alleged that it's going to come out early next year, along with the Surface Pro 5.

The Microsoft Surface Book 2 will reportedly retail at $2,399 which is very expensive for a laptop. Its just $600 less than the revolutionary Surface Studio, which costs $2,999. For comparison, the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar retails at $1,799, while the 15-inch MacBook Pro is still cheaper at $2,399.

According to CNET, at that price tag, you can already purchase a pretty good Windows tablet along with a laptop.

The price for the Microsoft Surface Book 2 could still change, however, during the release date itself.

As to the specs, the Microsoft Surface Book 2 will have a 13.5-inch display at 3000x2000 or good for pixel resolution. It will have an 8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage. It will have NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M with 2GB GDDR5 memory. In relation to the battery life, it will reportedly last 16 hours of heavy lifting. That's four more hours better compared to its predecessor.

But what people are not too excited about is the fact that the new model is still using the old sixth-gen i7 processor. Fans have been demanding that Microsoft Surface Book 2 be equipped with the new Kaby Lake processor but that's not happening.

There's one drawback, however, as the Surface Book 2 is a bit thicker compared to the original device, The Verge reported.

Watch out for more news and rumors on the Microsoft Surface Book 2 release date, which will be published here when they come along.
