Michael W. Smith New Album Scheduled for May 13 Release (Video)

Christian contemporary favorite artist, Michael W. Smith announced his upcoming album will be releasing on May 13.

Legendary singer/songwriter Smith, has been actively on the road touring with his latest single. "You Wont Let Go" hit radio airwaves in the beginning of the year. Smith took to his Facebook page to promote the single and tagged the post with his album release date.

Smith described his excitement about the new record with in a recent interview.

"Thrilled about it! Working with all these young kids, all these young producers, (Ha!) I'm old enough to be their dad, I'm doing something I've never done before, it's been awesome. We've raised the bar really high," he said to Examiner. "We're excited, trying some of these songs live, which has really been good, getting people's feedback; it's very exciting for sure."

In an interview with the Christian Post, the singer described the style of the album. "The new project that I'm working on, is more of a worship mode, not so much corporate, but more anthemic. More of the pop sensibilities I've been known for, but worshipful at the same time," he said.

When asked about the forth-coming record the singer told NRT Insider that he I feels like his best work is yet to come. Smith has been prepping for a 2014 Alaska Cruise concert along side the all-star line up Scott Hamilton, Darlene Zschech, Phillips Craig & Dean, and Comedian John Branyan.

Over the course of Smith's career, he has sold more than 13 million albums and recorded 29 No. 1 Hit songs, fourteen gold albums, and five platinum albums. He is a christian music lover favorite and his fans have expressed their anticipation for his next release.
