Pastor Amos & Sue Dodge and Capital Church have announced plans for the 37th Annual Easter Sunrise Service at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. The sunrise service will feature special guest Michael Tait (NEWSBOYS), the Capital Church Choir & Orchestra under the direction of Sue Dodge and an inspiring Easter message from Pastor Amos Dodge.

The Easter Sunrise service will begin at 6:30 AM on Sunday, April 5, 2015 on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC.
One of the nation's largest Easter sunrise services, this Washington tradition attracts visitors from all 50 states and many foreign countries, with attendees gathered for one purpose - to celebrate the risen Savior, Jesus Christ.

The annual event is organized by Capital Church, pastored by Amos & Sue Dodge, along with the entire music and arts ministry of the congregation. The church first organized the event and has been conducting the service since 1979.

"When we began this morning service, we never dreamed that it would grow to this magnitude," Pastor Dodge said. "The idea to have an Easter Sunrise Service at the Lincoln Memorial seemed to be just a 'thought' at the time. Now I know it was a WHISPER from Heaven! Who would have ever dreamed that what began in 1979 would become a nationally known sunrise service with over 6000 in attendance and a Washington tradition!"

Dodge continues: "At the dawn of Easter morning from the heart of the city that influences the world, thousands will gather to declare that, CHRIST IS RISEN! We will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, and by television, internet, and social media, that message will not only ring on the Washington mall, it will be heard around the world. Of all the leaders of all the religions of the world, only one came back from the grave! Jesus Christ! He is Alive!

For special guest, Michael Tait, the morning will hold a very special place in his heart. Michael Tait comments, "The Lincoln Memorial is just eight blocks from where I grew up! To be there at sunrise on Easter, singing "We Believe"... it's going to be incredible!"
The service is interdenominational, and all are encouraged to attend, but plan to arrive early.

Attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably and bring along a coat or blanket as the morning is often brisk. Directed parking will be provided.
