Despite gaining six Oscar nominations, including best picture and best actor, and breaking box-office records the film 'American Sniper' is getting a lot of heat from some critics. Controversial political activist Michael Moore is now including Jesus in his Twitter tirade against the film.

'Sicko' filmmaker Moore is known for fighting against things he opposes. Clint Eastwood's latest film "American Sniper" tells the story of American soldier Chris Kyle who was named the most lethal sharp shooter in American history.

The film highlights the stress that multiple deployments have on one military family during the Iraqi war. Many have embraced the film for the story telling aspect of it but many others have honed in on the violent war side of it.

On Jan. 18, Moore originally tweeted, "My uncle killed by sniper in WW2. We were taught snipers were cowards. Will shoot u in the back. Snipers aren't heroes. And invaders r worse."

After catching flak for his aggressive remarks, Moore took to Facebook to clarify his tweet and share some thoughts on the film. Over the weekend Moore felt he had to continue his deliberations but this time he included Jesus and pointed some things out using "Sunday school" as his theme.

See the series of tweets below:

"Tomorrow's Sunday School (1) What Would Jesus Do? Oh, I know what he'd do - hide on top of a roof and shoot people in the back!"

"a sniper & save soldiers lives by shooting "savages" in the back? ANSWER..."

- Michael Moore (@MMFlint) January 24, 2015

"Sunday School: (3) ANSWER: Jesus wouldn't put any soldiers lives in harm's way in the first place because he wouldn't have sent them 2 Iraq"

- Michael Moore (@MMFlint) January 24, 2015

"SundaySchool source: Pope John Paul II "The Iraq War, invading Iraq, is not a just war." He, and the current Pope, opposed this immoral war."

- Michael Moore (@MMFlint) January 24, 2015

"Instead of being a sniper to protect our troops, I tried to save their lives by stopping Bush from sending them to their deaths in Iraq."
