MercyMe 'Shake' Live on The Today Show in New York City (VIDEO)

MercyMe took New York City by storm this week to promote their upcoming headlining tour, and stopped by The TODAY Show to perform their hit song "Shake." 

The GRAMMY nominated Christian contemporary band, released their eighth studio album, Welcome To The New, on Tuesday April 8 in which the group entered a new era by ditching their traditional life in legalism and embracing the joy and grace of Jesus Christ.

This week MercyMe was featured on the morning show for the Toyota concert series. Host Kathie Lee and Honda introduced the band and announced the video for their hit single currently has two million views on the Internet.

Lead singer Bart Millard explained to the host' that the reception from fans has "blown" them away. "Shake's" 70s rock style had the band dancing along while performing.

"You gotta shake, shake, shake/Like you're changed, changed, changed/Brand new looks so good on you/So shake like you've been changed," he sang as the haunting chant, "great God almighty he done changed me," followed.

Welcome to the New landed the band its highest mainstream debut. Coming in at No. 4 on Billboard 200 charts. The new album is a collaboration of MercyMe and producers David Garcia and Ben Glover.

They will launch their headlining Welcome to the New tour featuring Jamie Grace and Citizen Way on April 24. The tour will make 15 stops in select cities across the country through May 17. For more information visit their website here.
